SDG 1 aims to end poverty in all its forms everywhere. It emphasizes ensuring that all people have access to basic needs, social protection, and resilience to economic, environmental, and social shocks. The goal promotes inclusive development so that no one is left behind.
TAR UMT supports SDG 1 (No Poverty) by expanding access to higher education through its Student Loan Fund and Merit Scholarship schemes, which are designed to reduce financial barriers for students from diverse socioeconomic backgrounds. Through interest-free loans and tuition fee waivers, the University enables students to pursue their studies with reduced financial stress and greater focus on academic success. Substantial financial assistance was provided annually, benefitting thousands of students and reinforcing TAR UMT’s commitment to inclusive and affordable education.
