A total of 59 students from the Diploma in Hotel Management, Bachelor of Hospitality and Catering Management (Honours), and Bachelor of Gastropreneurship (Honours) of TAR UMT Perak Campus participated in baking and selling Christmas-themed products, including Christmas cookies, chocolate cake, and Christmas pudding. Hands-on baking sessions were carried out at Copthorne Hotel, Cameron Highlands on 14 and 16 December 2025, providing students with valuable real-world hospitality experience.

On 13 December 2025, 11 students from TAR UMT Perak Campus had the opportunity to involved in visitation to Kampung Orang Asli Sungai Sinju, Simpang Pulai, Ipoh and assist in arranging the donated items and distribute to the Orang Asli.
The Lover Bridge Clean Up conducted by the Business Administration Society of TAR UMT had achieved its objective by actively reducing environmental pollution around the bridge area through systematic waste collection. Participants worked together to clean the bridge and its surrounding, resulting in a visibly cleaner and safer environment. The event also raised environmental awareness resulting in a visibly cleaner and safer environment. Beyond industry learning, students from TAR UMT Perak Campus embraced the spirit of giving back through a CSR beach clean-up at Pantai Kerachut Turtle Conservation and Information Centre. 13 staff and students from Bachelor of Tourism Management (Hons) Event Management from TAR UMT Perak Campus had involved in a community service at KC Valley located in Rawang. At KC Valley, students engaged in dog-care activities, including bathing, cleaning, and socializing with the rescued dogs.
Mr. Tan Seng Seng, Director of the Department of Student Affairs at Tunku Abdul Rahman University of Management and Technology (TAR UMT), attended the Launching Ceremony of the Gymnasium Arena Fit at SMK Sultan Abdul Samad, Klang, on 21 November 2025 (Friday). The ceremony, officiated by the School Principal, was attended by teachers, students, and various school representatives. Mr. Tan was accompanied by TAR UMT delegates: Mr. Guan Leong Eng, Mr. Chan Kee Chien, and Mr. Tengku.
As part of its commitment to supporting youth development, TAR UMT donated seven units of used Kaiser Spinning Bicycles to the school’s gymnasium. This contribution plays a significant role in promoting accessible physical fitness opportunities for students, directly supporting SDG 3: Good Health and Well-Being by encouraging regular exercise, improving cardiovascular health, and fostering a healthy school environment. Additionally, the donation reflects TAR UMT’s dedication to SDG 4: Quality Education, as enhanced sports facilities contribute to a more holistic educational experience that incorporates physical, mental, and emotional well-being. The Deepavali Celebration project, titled “Light of Kindness,” is a cultural and service-based event organized by the Leo Club of TARUMT at Pertubuhan Kebajikan Lindungan Ikhlas, Kuala Lumpur. The celebration aims to share the joy and spirit of Deepavali with the children through a series of engaging and meaningful activities. Participants will work together to create a colorful kolam, paint traditional clay lamps (diyas), design festive greeting cards, apply simple henna art, and make muruku in small batches. These hands-on activities will promote teamwork, creativity, and cultural understanding among Leo members and the children, while spreading happiness and festive cheer in a warm, inclusive environment. Through this celebration, members will gain a deeper understanding of cultural values, strengthen their communication skills, and foster a spirit of compassion and community service.
The Community Sociology Advisory Group students undertook an engagement visit to SJKC Kuala Kemaman, Terengganu, from 25 to 27 September 2025 (Thursday to Saturday). Throughout the programme, their involvement introduced enriched learning methods and wider academic perspectives to the primary school pupils, fostering heightened motivation, intellectual curiosity, and stronger aspirations for their future educational pathways. As part of their community service commitment, the university students also completed a CSR wall-painting project aimed at enhancing the school’s physical environment with educational and visually stimulating artwork. This initiative not only improved the aesthetic quality of the learning space but also promoted values of discipline, creativity, and a sincere appreciation for academic excellence among the young learners.
On 21 September 2025, the Student Representative Council collaborated with the Seed of Love Organization with the aim of raising awareness among TAR UMT students about the organization’s mission and initiatives, while also providing meaningful opportunities for students to contribute to society. Through this programme, essential food items were distributed to families and individuals in need within the Klang community, offering much-needed nutritional support to improve their daily well-being. The event successfully achieved its objectives by engaging students in hands-on volunteerism, where they assisted in preparing an estimated 800 food packages, relocating them into trucks for distribution, and cleaning up leftover boxes and packaging materials. These efforts not only ensured the smooth delivery of aid to underprivileged households but also cultivated teamwork, empathy, and a strong sense of social responsibility among the participants. By witnessing the impact of their collective actions, students were further inspired to continue supporting initiatives that uplift and empower vulnerable communities.
37 students and staffs from TAR UMT Perak Campus, in collaboration with Perak Forestry Department had volunteered to plant 250 mangroves at Tanjung Burong, Pantai Remis on 9 September 2025. The event contributed to local environmental conservation efforts and promoted a spirit of community engagement. The initiative was deemed a success in its mission to support a greener environment.
As part of their coursework, 15 students from FCCI had successfully organized a meaningful programme that combined creativity, learning, and social responsibility which is Circle of Care on 6 September 2025 held at Dewan Utama, TAR UMT Perak Branch. On 2 September 2025, 25 students and staffs from TAR UMT Perak Campus had an opportunity to conduct interactive games, English and Mathematics workshops together with 70 Standard Five students from SJKC Pei Yuan. This activity aims to help students to gain real-world experience and practice important skills such as leadership, problem-solving and time management.
On 29 August 2025, Green Society collaborated with the Free Tree Society to organize an environmental awareness programme at Taman Tugu. The initiative aimed to highlight the importance of native and urban tree species and their ecological role in sustaining healthy ecosystems. Participants were introduced to basic tree-planting and tree-care techniques, while also learning about sustainable practices such as composting and rainwater harvesting. The programme encouraged active community involvement in environmental conservation and inspired participants to continue taking meaningful green actions beyond the event.
A total of 95 Diploma students from FCCI, FAFB and FOCS of TAR UMT Perak branch were involved in the Merdeka Carnival fundraising charity project with the theme of Taste of Freedom (Tagline: Savour Unity, Serve a Cause). The project was carried out on 28 August 2025 (Thursday) at Block H corridor. A cash donation of RM3,009 that are contributed from the fundraising activities which comprised sales of food, drinks and fun games will be donated to Perak Women for Women (PWW) Society, Perak.
Four students from Bachelor of Tourism Management (Honours) Event Management of TAR UMT Perak Campus had participated in a CSR activity at Taman Rama-Rama dan Reptilia, Melaka on the 9 August 2025.
Students contributed by planting the Aristolochia foveolata host plant, which is essential for the survival of the Rajah Brooke’s Birdwing butterfly (Trogonoptera brookiana), a protected species in Malaysia. This activity not only provide valuable learning on the link between tourism and environmental responsibility but also fostered awareness, teamwork, and a sense of contribution to conservation efforts.
The Green Society organized a talk titled “Savor Upp: Food Waste Awareness Talk” to promote sustainability and educate students on the serious issue of food waste in Malaysia. The session aimed to raise awareness of the environmental, economic, and social impacts of food waste, while equipping students with practical strategies to reduce waste and adopt mindful consumption habits.
The talk featured Ms. Nisha T Jayagopal, founder of Savor Upp, who shared expert insights and actionable tips for reducing food waste. Her engaging presentation inspired students to reflect on their consumption behaviours and commit to more sustainable practices. The event concluded with an interactive Q&A session, marking a significant step toward cultivating a more environmentally responsible student community.
This charity donation activity is a community outreach initiative organized to support and uplift the lives of children at a local orphanage. The activity involves a visit by student volunteers from the Electrical and Electronics Engineering Society Committee at TARUMT, who will personally deliver essential daily needs and monetary donations to the orphanage. Beyond material giving, the event emphasizes emotional and social connection through interactive games and performances aimed at bringing joy and a sense of belonging to the children.
The objective of this visit to Tzu Chi is to gain a deeper understanding of sustainable practices and environmental protection through the real-life efforts of a non-governmental organization. By exploring their recycling system, learning about their values, and observing their community engagement, participants will be inspired to reflect on their own roles in promoting sustainability and contributing to a greener society.
On 5 July 2025, 47 students and staff of TAR UMT Perak Campus volunteered at the Turtle Conservation Centre in Segari, Perak, where they participated in cleaning and maintenance activities to support wildlife conservation efforts. At dawn, participants were also given the opportunity to release 200 baby turtles into the sea, contributing directly to marine conservation initiatives.
The activity fostered greater awareness of the importance of protecting wildlife and preserving natural habitats, reinforcing TAR UMT’s commitment to environmental sustainability and community engagement.
"Program USR: Jalinan Kasih bersama Persatuan Kebajikan Anak Yatim dan Miskin Al-Munirah" event was held on June 21, 2025, at the Persatuan Kebajikan Anak Yatim Dan Miskin Al-Munirah Perak. This collaborative initiative between UiTM Perak aimed to foster community engagement and provide a meaningful experience for the orphanage residents through fun group activities and lunch preparation, successfully reinforcing social responsibility and community support.
The Nation Building Society of TAR UMT Johor Campus participated in the Sambutan Minggu Perpaduan (SMP) Peringkat Kebangsaan 2025 on 17 May 2025 at Dataran Segamat, Johor. A total of 14 students and one Duta Perpaduan facilitator represented the university in the Unity Fun Walk and Eksplorasi Rukun Negara activities organised by JPNIN Johor.
The event fostered the values of the Rukun Negara while promoting teamwork, national identity, and physical wellness among participants. Two TAR UMT teams also received consolation prizes in the competition, showcasing the students’ active engagement and spirit of unity.

On 15 May 2025, the Community Sociology of TAR UMT Sabah Campus; led by Mdm Chew Tze Ha (Assistant Advisor) and seven members, organised a meaningful school bag distribution event for students with disabilities at SMK Tansau Putatan.
A total of 75 school bags, generously donated by event sponsor Mr. Roger Yapp Kah Chong, were collected and delivered by the Community Sociology (CS) team. The ceremony was graced by the presence of VIP guests Datuk Ir. Tang Lung Sing, JP, Datuk Pang Kin Khon, and Datuk Flora, who supported the charitable initiative. This outreach effort demonstrated TAR UMT’s commitment to social responsibility and inclusivity, while fostering strong community ties and supporting educational access for students in need.
The TAR UMT Kuala Lumpur Campus successfully organized a swimming competition sponsored by MASISWA, with the participation of 25 universities across IPTA and IPTS. The event brought together student athletes to compete in various individual and team categories that required strong skills, discipline, and technical proficiency.
Despite the high level of competition, the most valuable outcome for participants was the experience gained, the knowledge shared, and the opportunity to engage with peers from other institutions. The Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities (FSSH) Student Representative Council recently organized "Re-Love Lives", a meaningful initiative aimed at promoting sustainability and conscious consumerism among students. The event focused on encouraging the purchase of pre-loved items as a way to reduce waste and support a greener planet.
In line with its charitable mission, a portion of the proceeds from the event was channelled to a local charity home (Persatuan Harapan Selesa The Comforter's Hope), further extending the impact of the programme beyond campus and into the community. "Re-Love Lives" programme had successfully combined environmental education with social responsibility, leaving a lasting impression on all who attended.
As part of the MPU2202 Civic Consciousness and Volunteerism course of TAR UMT Sabah Campus, students organized a charity initiative titled “Pups and Kits Fund.” The project aimed to raise awareness about abandoned and abused stray animals while supporting efforts to improve their living conditions and increase their chances of adoption.
Through this fundraising campaign, students collected contributions for Shelter of Hope, Penampang, Sabah, managed by Miss Adrienne. The funds aimed to help ease her burden in caring for the animals and sustaining the shelter’s operations. This initiative not only created meaningful impact for the shelter but also fostered civic responsibility, empathy, and volunteerism among participating students and supporters. The project reflected the course’s objective of cultivating community awareness and encouraging positive social contribution.
On 3 May 2025, TAR UMT Perak Branch successfully co-organised the HOGA Wellness Day in collaboration with HOGA Gaharu Tea Valley. The event attracted 55 participants, including members of the local community and TAR UMT students.
With special support from the Ministry of Health, informational booths were set up to provide complimentary medical check-ups and educational resources on the prevention of Tuberculosis (TB) and Hand, Foot and Mouth Disease (HFMD).
The programme was organised and managed by students from the Bachelor of Tourism Management (Honours) in Event Management and Bachelor of Hospitality and Catering Management (Honours) programmes, offering valuable hands-on learning experience. Interactive sessions such as origami folding, signboard painting, and hydroponic demonstrations further engaged participants.

The Hope for the Youth project was a student-led fundraising initiative carried out by the class of DBUY1S3 at TAR UMT Sabah Campus, comprising 21 highly motivated and community-minded students. The project was designed with the purpose of raising funds for Rumah Bakti Harapan, a home dedicated to the care and well-being of underprivileged children. This initiative provided students not only with an opportunity to give back to society but also to develop essential skills such as leadership, collaboration, communication, and financial literacy.
The Volleyball Society of TAR UMT Johor Campus had organized a friendly match with SMJK Seg Hwa on 25 April 2025 to strengthen bonds through sports, promote healthy competition, and enhance students' volleyball skills. The match encouraged teamwork, adaptability, and sportsmanship, offering a valuable experience that supported both technical growth and holistic development.
This Tree Planting Programme was organized on 21 April 2025, in support of the nationwide campaign “100 Million Tree Planting – Our Tree, Our Life” under the Malaysia Greening Programme, launched by the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources (now known as the Ministry of Natural Resources, Environment, and Climate Change – NRECC).
Co-organized by the Northern Johor District Forestry Department (Jabatan Perhutanan Daerah Johor Utara), JPKK Kg Baru Bukit Siput, Kawasan Rukun Tetangga (KRT) Genuang Utara, and Kawasan Rukun Tetangga (KRT) Bukit Siput, the programme brought together 64 participants who were guided in tree-planting knowledge transfer programme before actively engaging in the planting of 50 small trees, among these small trees, some trees are brought home by the participants to continue the planting activitities at their own home. The tree planting activities were held in Taman Genuang Utara and Bukit Siput. Led by Ms. Heng from TAR UMT Johor Campus, the initiative aimed to promote environmental sustainability and increase community awareness on the importance of preserving nature. By planting trees in designated community areas, the programme contributed to biodiversity enhancement, air quality improvement, and supported a broader mission towards a greener Malaysia.

The English Language Society of TAR UMT Johor Campus had organized an Orphanage Visit to Pusat Jagaan Kanak-kanak Bestari, Segamat on 12 April 2025. The event aimed to foster compassion, community spirit, and volunteerism among students while providing a platform to practice English through interactive activities. It also promoted teamwork and leadership during the planning and execution of the program. A total of 13 students and one advisor took part in the visit.
Volunteerism plays a vital role in every society striving to improve its structure and function through the selfless contribution of time, skills, and labor—without monetary compensation. The Gunung Lambak Cleanup Initiative, held on 11 April 2025, exemplifies this spirit of civic responsibility and environmental care. The initiative was led by Ms. Heng from TAR UMT Johor Campus, organized by DAC1S3G1 students, and involved a total of 31 participants, including students and Ms. Heng herself. Before heading to Gunung Lambak, the team extended their efforts by first conducting a cleanup at the Old Folks Home in Kluang, demonstrating a strong commitment to both social and environmental well-being. During the Gunung Lambak activity, the students segregated waste materials and made use of biodegradable items, reducing reliance on recycling processes and directly contributing to environmental preservation. More than just a cleanup, this initiative aimed to inspire others to take part in making the environment cleaner and healthier, showcasing how small, consistent acts of volunteerism can lead to meaningful community impact.
The Student Representative Council from Faculty of Social Science and Humanities is honored to host a talk featuring "Uncle Kentang" (Kuan Chee Heng), a renowned Malaysian philanthropist and social activist. Widely recognized for his impactful work through Pertubuhan Amal Uncle Kentang Malaysia, he has dedicated his life to serving the underprivileged through initiatives such as the 10-sen ambulance, hearse, taxi services, and pre-loved markets.
This session will offer students a unique opportunity to hear Uncle Kentang’s personal story and experiences, gaining insight into his journey of perseverance, compassion, and dedication to community welfare. The talk aims to inspire and motivate students by highlighting the profound impact of community service and the importance of giving back to society.
On 04 April 2025, the Community Sociology Advisory Group (CSAG) of TAR UMT Johor Campus held a charity donation visit to Pusat Jagaan Selva Rumah Prihatin Dan Bimbingan and Hou Fook KopiTiam. The event aimed to provide aid to the needy, promote compassion and social responsibility, and raise awareness about the challenges faced by the elderly and individuals with disabilities. Six students participated, fostering community engagement and encouraging volunteerism.
Organized by Accounting and Business Society, the night party event was held at TAR UMT Johor Campus with a two-fold purpose: to raise fund for the charity and to offer participants an opportunity to relax, recharge, and expand their social boundaries. The amount raised from the event was used to purchase dog foods to the dog shelter.
On 02 April 2025, the Student Representative Council of TAR UMT Johor Campus conducted a donation visit to Persatuan Kebajikan Impian Labis and Pertubuhan Hemodialisis Muhibbah Segamat. The SRC has donated 50 boxes of mixed rice worth RM300 and helped distribute food to families in need, as well as contributed RM800 to the dialysis centre and toured its facilities. The visit was a meaningful effort to give back and support the community.

On 25 - 27 March 2025, Department of Student Affairs at TAR UMT Perak Campus had organized a blood donation campaign facilitated by the First Aid Unit Society, with 64 donors including students and staff participating. The campaign aimed to bolster the blood bank supply at Hospital Raja Permaisuri Bainun in Ipoh while fostering a culture of compassion on campus alongside academic pursuits.

The Department of Social Science and Hospitality of Perak Branch had collaborated with Copthorne Hotel, Cameron Highlands in a corporate social responsibility event which is Raya Cookies Sales during the month of Ramadhan. Students from the hospitality programmes and the chef lecturers were involved in the sales and baking the cookies. Each RM 2 earned from cookies sales will be donated to the NASOM Malaysia. A total of RM 553 have been funded and donated to NASOM Malaysia.
The Accounting, Business, and Management Society (ABMS) Club of TAR UMT Pahang Campus had organized an industrial talk titled "Banks Knowledge, Loans, and Financial Profiles" in collaboration with Kumpulan Wang Simpanan Pekerja (KWSP) and Make A Difference (MAD.CO) Kuantan. The event was held in person at the Multi-Purpose Hall on Wednesday, 12th March 2025, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM.

The On 10 March 2025, the Department of Student Affairs of TAR UMT Perak Campus organized an interactive learning programme at SJKC Brinchang. A total of 25 TAR UMT students and staff facilitated engaging activities including interactive games, English workshops, and Math workshops for 54 enthusiastic Standard 4, 5, and 6 pupils.

On 8th March 2025, the Leo Club joined forces with the Green Society for a meaningful beach cleaning event at Pantai Cermin, Port Dickson. Running from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, the initiative brought together 37 enthusiastic students and one dedicated advisor, Mr. Wong Liang Wei, all united by a shared goal — environmental preservation.
The participants worked diligently throughout the day, collecting trash, sorting recyclables, and raising awareness about marine pollution. This collaboration not only contributed to a cleaner coastline but also fostered teamwork, responsibility, and environmental consciousness among the students. Happened at TAR UMT Johor Campus, the Blood Donation Campaign is a general activity that is organized by First Aid Unit Society. The objectives of this campaign included collect and increase the blood for Blood Bank in Hospital Segamat, improve students' first aid knowledge, improve the relationship between hospital staff and the First Aid Unit members, and help the First Aid Unit members realize their potential through team work activities and improve their leadership skill, and communication skill.

A total of 28 drinks sold and RM 100 has collected as revenue. All the revenue will be donated to Rapha Children's Home, Kuantan. Besides entrepreneurship skills, students also gained valuable experience in teamwork, communication, and event management. This initiative not only provided them with practical business insights but also helped foster a sense of social responsibility as they contributed to a meaningful cause. By donating all the proceeds to Rapha Children’s Home in Kuantan, the students were able to directly support the well-being of children in need, making the project both educational and impactful.
The First Aid Unit of TAR UMT Kuala Lumpur Campus, in collaboration with the National Blood Center, successfully organized a Blood Donation Campaign at the Main Hall. The initiative aimed to support the healthcare system and raise awareness about the importance of voluntary blood donation. The event attracted participants from diverse backgrounds and sought not only to collect blood for hospitals but also to educate the public on its life-saving impact. Dedicated volunteers ensured the smooth operation of the campaign, while many first-time donors gained a deeper appreciation for how their contributions could help those in critical need. A total of 644 bags of blood were collected during the four-day campaign, marking a significant contribution to the national blood supply.
Organized by Accounting and Business Society at TAR UMT Johor Campus, the purpose of book donation is to maintain unused books in circulation by redistributing any gently used reading materials to local libraries or charitable organizations. Meanwhile, the clothing donation is to extend the useful life of the garments. Garments that are no longer used are recovered and provided with a second life by donating to those in need.
The Human Resource Society extended heartfelt support to a local orphanage in conjunction with Chinese New Year. Through donations, essential supplies, and engaging activities, the Society aimed to enhance the well-being and development of the children.
This initiative not only brought festive cheer to the orphanage but also fostered empathy, inclusivity, and greater awareness among HR Society members. By interacting with the children and learning about their challenges and potential, members deepened their understanding and shared the jot of the season — making the children feel valued, seen, and celebrated.
The Marketing and Management Society (MMS) of TAR UMT Johor Campus, in collaboration with the Segamat Buddhist Society, successfully organized the Chinese New Year Carnival 2025 on 22 February at the Segamat Buddhist Society Centre. The event celebrated the festive season while fostering meaningful community engagement and promoting cultural appreciation.
A total of 21 student helpers contributed to booth management, workshop facilitation, and overall event coordination. Key highlights included a charity sale, game zones, “Lao Sheng” sessions, cultural performances, and festive song-and-dance activities.
The carnival also served as a platform to promote TAR UMT Johor Campus within the local community, while providing students with hands-on experience in leadership development and event management. This initiative exemplified collaboration, cultural enrichment, and active community participation.
Organized by Department of Student Affairs at TAR UMT Pahang Campus, the voters education program was conducted by Pejabat Pilihan Raya Negeri Pahang in Multipurpose Hall, Pahang Campus on 21 February 2025. The speaker, Puan Rohaida and her team successfully conducted voting stimulation with the students about voting process. This activity provided hands-on experience to ensure voters, especially first-timers, understand how elections are conducted and how to correctly cast their votes by role playing.
An outreach programme was organized by Christian Fellowship from TAR UMT Johor Campus, in collaboration with Segamat Chinese Methodist Church (SCMC) at SJK(C) Kampung Tengah, Segamat on 19 February 2025. This event aimed to inspire students, foster a strong learning attitude, and encourage personal growth. Through engaging activities and meaningful interactions, participants motivated students to see education as a pathway to a brighter future. A total of 9 participants took part in this initiative.
A total of 44 students from Student Representative Council at Faulty of Social Science and Humanities (FSSH) participated in the beach cleaning exercise at Pantai Cermin, Port Dickson. This hands-on experience provided them with a valuable opportunity to deepen their understanding and appreciation of environmental issues, particularly those concerning marine pollution and the impact of human activities on coastal ecosystems.
The BLIA-YAD Segamat, in collaboration with the Buddhist Society from TAR UMT Johor Campus, organized the Laba Festival 2025 celebration on 06 to 07 January at BLIA-YAD Segamat, Johor. The event aimed to deepen participants’ understanding of the festival’s Buddhist cultural significance while fostering compassion and community service values. Participants took part in cooking and distributing Laba porridge, an activity that encouraged teamwork, volunteerism, and communication skills. A total of 16 participants joined the celebration, contributing to meaningful cultural engagement and social service.
The Flood Relief Fund Raising project aims to support flood victims in East Coast of Peninsular Malaysia. Organized in collaboration with Primo Apparel Global, the Choir Society will be selling specially designed T-shirts provided by Primo Apparel Global, with all proceeds directed towards aiding those affected by the floods under Lions Club Kuala Lumpur.
